General Consultation

Walk-in welcome · follow-up free

Thorough medical examinations and consultations for all ages. Our doctors take time to listen, diagnose, and create personalized treatment plans for acute illness and primary care needs.

This is the front door to everything else. A general consultation is where a symptom gets turned into a working diagnosis: the doctor takes a history, examines you, decides whether a test is needed and whether treatment can start today. It covers fever, cough, sore throat, stomach upset, headache, rashes, aches and pains, children who are unwell, and the vague not-quite-right feeling that people apologise for bringing. It is also where an existing problem gets reviewed and where a referral letter is written when a specialist is the right answer. Anyone can walk in during opening hours; no appointment is needed. Follow-up consultations are free, which means there is no financial reason to leave something unresolved.

Medical Screening

Featured
FOMEMA & PEKA B40 registered

Comprehensive health screening packages including full blood panel, blood pressure monitoring, diabetes screening, cholesterol checks, and complete body check-ups. Let's do our medical screening!

Screening is testing a person who feels well, to find something before it causes harm. It covers the full medical check-up, the FOMEMA examination for foreign workers, PEKA B40 for eligible Malaysians aged forty and above, vocational licence medicals for GDL and PSV drivers, and the diagnostic tests that go with them. Who needs it: anyone over forty, anyone with a family history of diabetes or heart disease, anyone whose employer or licensing body requires it, and anyone who has simply not had their blood pressure measured in years. The important part is choosing the tests by your age, sex and risk rather than by the price tier — a longer test list is not a better check-up.

Blood Analysis & Lab Tests

Featured
60+ tests · doctor-reviewed

On-site blood analyzer for rapid results. Complete blood count, liver function, kidney function, thyroid panels, and more. Get accurate lab results without long waits.

More than sixty blood tests are available, drawn on site with common tests run on our own analyser and the rest sent to established partner laboratories. This covers the routine panels — full blood count, glucose and HbA1c, cholesterol, kidney and liver function, uric acid — plus thyroid and hormone testing, hepatitis, HIV and syphilis screening, dengue testing, and urine and stool analysis. Who needs it: people with symptoms, people on long-term medication that requires monitoring, people with diabetes or high blood pressure, and anyone having a check-up. A doctor reviews every result before you are contacted, because a printout handed over a counter is not a result being explained.

ECG, ultrasound & X-ray on site

services.diagnosticsDesc

Having imaging in the building changes what a general practice can do in a single visit. ECG records the heart's electrical activity and shows rhythm, conduction, strain and evidence of previous damage — though a normal ECG never excludes a heart attack, and chest pain belongs in an emergency department. Ultrasound from 2D through 6D covers pregnancy scanning and abdominal imaging for gallstones, kidney stones, liver texture and cysts, with no radiation involved. X-ray covers chest films for cough, breathlessness and tuberculosis screening, and bone films for suspected fracture. Anyone who is or might be pregnant must tell staff before an X-ray. CT and MRI are arranged through partner imaging centres.

Minor Procedures

Featured
Walk-in urgent care

Wound care, abscess drainage, ear syringing, injections, dressings, and other minor surgical procedures performed safely in our fully-equipped treatment room.

Wounds and minor procedures are the part of general practice where arriving early genuinely changes the outcome. This covers wound assessment and cleaning, stitching and tissue glue, abscess drainage, ingrown and damaged nail removal, corn and callus treatment, cauterisation of warts, foreign body removal and ear wax removal. It also covers two things people consistently underestimate: tetanus immunisation status, which is the single most forgotten element of wound care, and diabetic foot ulcers, where a painless break in the skin is an emergency rather than a nuisance. Walk in without an appointment. Follow-up dressing changes and reviews are free.

Women's Health & Antenatal

Featured
GP care with ultrasound on site

Comprehensive women's health services including antenatal screening, pregnancy tests, 4D ultrasound, and hormone testing.

Routine women's health handled properly in general practice, with prompt referral when a specialist is needed. This covers antenatal care and the schedule of visits, obstetric ultrasound, cervical screening with Pap smear and HPV testing, breast assessment, contraception matched to your circumstances rather than picked off a list, menstrual problems and PCOS, menopause and its management, urinary and vaginal infections, pre-marital screening and initial fertility assessment for both partners. To be clear about scope: this is a general practice with ultrasound, not a gynaecology specialist centre, and delivery does not take place here. High-risk pregnancy, abnormal screening needing colposcopy and suspicious breast lumps are referred.

Rapid & Point-of-Care Tests

Results while you wait

Quick results with dengue NS1, influenza, urine drug testing, and other rapid diagnostic tests.

Point-of-care tests are the ones that change what happens during the same visit rather than the following week. Dengue NS1 antigen testing is the one that matters most in Johor, where dengue is endemic — it can be positive from the first day of fever, and it is often paired with IgM and IgG to cover a fever of uncertain duration. Influenza A and B rapid testing, fingerprick glucose, urine dipstick and urine FEME, pregnancy testing and urine drug screening all give answers in minutes. A negative dengue test early in a fever never rules dengue out, which is why we ask you to come back for repeat testing with a blood count if the fever continues.

Chronic Disease Management

Long-term monitoring & review

Ongoing management and monitoring of chronic conditions including diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and heart disease. Regular follow-ups and medication management.

Chronic disease is where continuity of care matters more than anything else, and where a clinic that has known families for fifty years has a genuine advantage. This covers diabetes with HbA1c monitoring, kidney and urine albumin checks, foot examination and complication prevention; hypertension with blood pressure monitoring, ECG and assessment of damage to the heart, kidneys and eyes; cholesterol and cardiovascular risk; thyroid disease; gout; asthma and COPD with spirometry. Who needs it: anyone already diagnosed, and anyone whose screening has found a number that needs following. The work is unglamorous and repetitive, and it is what prevents strokes, kidney failure and amputations.

Occupational Health

Featured
OHD (NIOSH) certified

Certified occupational health services by Dr. Prabagaran, OHD(NIOSH). Pre-employment medicals, workplace health surveillance, and fitness-to-work assessments for companies.

Masai sits beside one of the densest industrial areas in southern Johor, and occupational health here is a serious part of the practice rather than a sideline. Dr. Prabagaran Kanapathy holds NIOSH Occupational Health Doctor certification, which is what allows the clinic to certify statutory medical surveillance for workers exposed to chemicals hazardous to health — something an ordinary GP cannot do. The service covers that surveillance, FOMEMA, pre-employment medicals, audiometry, spirometry, biological monitoring, drug screening, fitness-to-work and return-to-work assessment. Employers should call ahead for group bookings and tell us the hazards involved so the right tests are prepared before workers arrive.

Insurance Panels

8 panels accepted

We accept 8 major insurance panels including Mednefits, PMCare, MAY BANK (ETIQA), IHP Singapore, and more. Hassle-free cashless claims.

We are on eight insurance and corporate benefit panels: MAY BANK (ETIQA), eBen Assist, HEALTH CONNECT, TERRAGON ENGINEERING, TORISHIMA, MADANI, MEDNEFITS and IHP Singapore. If you hold one of these, tell us at registration rather than at the end of the visit, and bring your card or your employee details. We will check your coverage before you are seen, so you know what your panel absorbs and what, if anything, sits outside it. If your insurer is not on the list, call us and ask — panel arrangements change, and it takes a minute to check.

How our fees work

We quote you before we do anything

Kami beritahu kos sebelum apa-apa dijalankan

We do not publish a fixed price list, because a single figure would be misleading for almost everyone who reads it. A consultation, a FOMEMA examination, an ultrasound, a comprehensive screening panel and ongoing wound care are entirely different pieces of work, and what any one person needs depends on what the doctor finds.

What we do instead is simple and it has not changed in fifty years of practice. When you arrive, the doctor examines you and works out what is actually needed. Before any test is run, any dressing is opened or any procedure is started, our front desk tells you what it will cost. You can agree to all of it, part of it, or none of it. Nothing is added to your bill that you have not been told about first, and you will never be handed a total at the end that is the first time you are hearing the number.

If you want an estimate before you travel to the clinic, call or message us and describe what you need — the more specific you are, the more accurate the answer. Our staff can give you a realistic range over the phone in a couple of minutes. If you hold one of our eight insurance panels, tell us at registration and we will check your coverage before you are seen, so you know what you are paying for and what your panel absorbs.

The one figure we can publish, because it is genuinely fixed, is teleconsultation at RM30, prepaid, with medication delivery available within Johor state. Details are on our teleconsultation page.

No. 62 Jalan Kiambang, Taman Bunga Raya, 81700 Masai, Johor. Open Monday to Thursday and Saturday 9AM–9PM, Friday 9AM–3PM, Sunday 9AM–1PM.

How to use this clinic

Cara menggunakan perkhidmatan kami

Klinik Muhibbah has been at No. 62 Jalan Kiambang, Taman Bunga Raya in Masai since 1975. Over 27,000 patients and 999 Google reviews at an average of 4.91 later, the way it works is still fairly simple.

Walk in for anything urgent or straightforward. No appointment is needed for consultations, blood tests, wound care, minor procedures, rapid tests or dressing changes. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday and Saturday 9AM to 9PM, Friday 9AM to 3PM, and Sunday 9AM to 1PM. If you are fasting for a blood test, come early in the day.

Book ahead when it helps. Comprehensive health screening, FOMEMA, groups of workers sent by an employer, and antenatal appointments all move faster with a booking. You can book at movo-x.com/kiosk/muhibbah, on our booking page, by phone on +60 7-251 1162, or on WhatsApp at +60 17-500 7205.

Use teleconsultation when a visit is not necessary. It is RM30, prepaid, and suitable for straightforward matters — discussing a result, a repeat prescription, a follow-up on something already assessed, or advice on whether you need to come in at all. Medication delivery is available within Johor state. What it cannot do is examine you, so anything requiring physical examination, any wound, any chest pain and anything worrying should be seen in person.

Bring your MyKad, passport or work permit, your insurance panel card if you have one of our eight panels, any previous results even from another clinic, and a list of your medications and supplements — or simply bring the boxes. Comparing today's results against last year's is often more useful than today's numbers on their own.

Two doctors run the clinical service. Dr. Prabagaran Kanapathy (M.D UNPAD, MMC 63651) holds NIOSH Occupational Health Doctor certification, which is what allows the clinic to certify statutory medical surveillance. Dr. Kirubah Sai Patnaik (MMC 93850) practises alongside him.

Follow-up consultations are free. That is deliberate, because the commonest reason a treatable problem gets worse is that someone decided not to come back and check.

  • Walk in: consultations, blood tests, wound care, minor procedures, rapid tests, dressings.
  • Book ahead: health screening, FOMEMA, group bookings, antenatal visits.
  • Teleconsultation RM30: results, repeat prescriptions, straightforward follow-up, delivery within Johor.
  • Emergency: chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe breathlessness, heavy bleeding, collapse, dengue warning signs — call 999 or go to the nearest emergency department, not to a clinic.

What is actually in the building

Kemudahan di klinik

A general practice with diagnostics on site answers a different class of question than one without. When the blood analyser, the ultrasound, the ECG machine and the X-ray are all in the same building, a patient who walks in with a fever, a lump, a cough or an injury can frequently leave the same day with an answer rather than a set of appointments elsewhere.

The laboratory covers more than sixty blood tests, with the common ones run in-house and the rest sent to established partner laboratories. Point-of-care testing — fingerprick glucose, urine dipstick, dengue NS1, influenza — is read while you wait, which is what allows treatment decisions during the same consultation.

Ultrasound runs from 2D through 6D, covering obstetric scanning across pregnancy and abdominal and pelvic imaging. ECG is available for rhythm, conduction and evidence of strain or previous damage. Digital X-ray covers chest and bone imaging with same-day results, and is central to both tuberculosis screening and FOMEMA examinations. Audiometry and spirometry support the occupational health service, and there is an in-house pharmacy so most people leave with their medication rather than a prescription to fill elsewhere.

The clinic is a registered FOMEMA centre and a registered PEKA B40 provider, and is on eight insurance and corporate benefit panels.

What is not here: inpatient beds, surgery under general anaesthesia, delivery, CT and MRI scanners, and specialist services. Those are referred, and we would rather refer you today than keep you here for another week of tests that will not change the answer.

When to go to a hospital instead of a clinic

Bila perlu ke hospital, bukan klinik

This matters more than anything else on this page. A general practice is the right place for a great deal, and the wrong place for a short and specific list of things where minutes count.

  • Chest pain or pressure, pain spreading to the jaw, neck, back or either arm, with breathlessness, sweating or nausea. Do not come for an ECG to decide whether it is serious — a normal ECG does not exclude a heart attack.
  • Stroke symptoms: sudden face drooping, arm weakness, difficulty speaking, sudden confusion, sudden loss of vision, or the worst headache of your life. Note the time symptoms began; treatment is time-critical.
  • Severe breathlessness, inability to speak in full sentences, or blue lips.
  • Dengue warning signs: severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, bleeding from gums or nose, blood in vomit or stool, black tarry stools, drowsiness or restlessness, cold clammy skin, or a sudden drop in urine output.
  • Bleeding that will not stop after ten minutes of firm continuous pressure, an amputated part, or a wound with bone visible.
  • Severe abdominal pain, particularly one-sided pain in a woman with a missed period or positive pregnancy test, which may be an ectopic pregnancy.
  • Any bleeding in later pregnancy, reduced fetal movements, waters breaking before term, or severe headache with visual disturbance and swelling in pregnancy.
  • Collapse, seizure, unresponsiveness, confusion, or a fever with a stiff neck or a rash that does not fade under pressure.
  • Heat stroke: a worker who collapses or becomes confused in the heat, with hot skin and altered behaviour.
  • Serious burns, chemical or electrical burns, chemical splashes to the eye, and burns with a hoarse voice, singed nasal hairs or breathlessness.

Call 999 or go to the nearest emergency department

For any of the above, do not wait for the clinic to open and do not travel here first. Malaysia's emergency number is 999. If you are unsure whether something belongs on this list, treat it as if it does — being sent home from an emergency department costs you an evening, and the alternative can cost considerably more.

Finding the right page

Mencari maklumat yang anda perlukan

This site is organised in three layers, and knowing which one you want saves time.

The five service pages linked from the cards above go into real depth on blood tests, health screening, occupational health, women's health and wound care. Each explains what the tests and procedures actually measure, how to prepare, what the turnaround looks like and when something needs urgent care instead.

The services index at /s lists every individual service the clinic offers, from specific blood tests through vaccinations to minor procedures — useful when you know exactly what you are looking for.

The conditions index at /conditions covers individual illnesses: what they are, what the symptoms mean, how they are diagnosed and treated, and the point at which they need urgent attention. If you are searching because of a symptom rather than a service, start there.

Specialized Services

Advanced Diagnostic & Specialty Care

From lung function and hearing testing to joint injection and advanced imaging by referral.

🫁

Spirometry

Lung function testing for asthma and COPD, for occupational surveillance of workers exposed to dust, fume and sensitisers, and for pre-employment assessment where respirator use is required.

👂

Audiometry

Hearing thresholds measured across frequencies. Noise damage shows on an audiogram long before the worker notices it, which is the whole point of testing rather than waiting for symptoms.

👶

Fertility Assessment

Initial evaluation of both partners — cycle and ovulation assessment, timed hormone testing, thyroid and prolactin, pelvic ultrasound, and semen analysis — with referral for treatment beyond that.

🦵

Knee Joint Injection

Intra-articular injection for chronic knee pain and osteoarthritis, discussed alongside the things that change knee osteoarthritis most: weight, quadriceps strength and activity.

💊

Chronic Disease Management

Structured long-term care — regular monitoring, medication review, complication screening and lifestyle counselling — for conditions that are managed over decades rather than cured.

❤️

Hypertension Management

Blood pressure monitoring, ECG, medication titration and assessment for damage to the heart, kidneys and eyes. High blood pressure causes no symptoms until it causes a stroke.

🩼

Diabetic Management

HbA1c monitoring, glucose control, urine albumin for early kidney change, annual foot examination, and referral for retinal screening. The foot examination is the one that prevents amputations.

🦠

X-Ray, CT & MRI

Digital X-ray on site with same-day results for chest and bone imaging. CT and MRI arranged through partner imaging centres when cross-sectional imaging is what the question requires.
